Ooooohhh! I liked this book much better than the first, mainly due to the Greek myths that Percy meets during his journey. I love how Riordan puts a modern twist on the myths - it's fun! Percy is getting farther and farther into the god's pile o' omnipotent shite, and he is handling it quite well. He has some help from a god or 2 in this story, and has to travel through some rough waters, literally, and battle some scary monsters, to help restore the safety of Camp Half-Blood. Of course, he doesn't do this without the help of his trusty, intelligent Athenian friend, Anabeth; his new devoted friend, Tyson; and his favorite goat-boy, Grover! ! I ADORE TYSON! What a wonderful addition he is to Percy's life. The end of the book has sent me grabbing for the next installment immediately!
